The main airport is located in the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo. MVD is the airport code and while many South American airlines fly into Montevideo, American Airlines is currently the only US carrier that has a daily flight into Montevideo. American Airlines provides a direct flight from Miami 3 times a week.

If you will be doing some travel to Argentina, it is easy to hop on a domestic flight to Montevideo or even the Buquebus (fast passenger boat) to get to Uruguay.
